Aggressive Dog Training in Calgary

Common vs. Complex?

At Raising Fido Dog Training & Behaviour Consultants we generally divide behaviour issues into two categories - common and complex. However, it is important to know that behaviour doesn’t always fit neatly into categories. It is not uncommon for multiple factors to be influencing what we’re seeing. Something that may seem relatively straightforward on its own can become more complex when other stressors or underlying issues are involved.

Common Issues

Behaviours that humans tend to find annoying or undesirable, but that are still largely normal for dogs, even if they can sometimes pose safety risks for the dog or others. Conflict might occur when your dog does these things either when, where, or toward something, you don't want. The list below includes some of the most prevalent examples.

Complex Issues

Behaviours that are abnormal, maladaptive, and/or has the potential to significantly impact health or safety of them or others. It is not only problematic and extremely challenging for us, but also on our dog's overall well-being. The list below includes some examples of behavioural symptoms of complex issues, as well as some neurological conditions and/or genetic predispositions that could cause such symptoms.
